Dr. Schwalb has held major leadership roles, including Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Indiana University and Surgical Director of Movement Disorders and Epilepsy Programs at Henry Ford Health, leading high-volume, subspecialty neurosurgical programs.
As Co-Director of the Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative, involving over 200 surgeons and over 80,000 patients, he led measurable improvements in outcomes, reduced complications, and driven substantial cost savings across health systems.
Dr. Schwalb serves as an advisor to pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare technology companies, with experience in clinical trials, neuromodulation, and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in care delivery.
He has held leadership roles across major neurosurgical organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ASSFN), and has contributed to national policy efforts through the AMA and organized neurosurgery advocacy initiatives.
